I am an associate professor in Industrial and Systems Engineering at Northern Illinois University. The greatest joy of my job is to work on challenging, complex, cross-disciplinary, impactful problems. Most recently, I use advanced operations research (OR) methods and artificial intelligence (AI) technology to develop novel tools for decision-making support in supply chain management and healthcare. I am also developing an AI-enriched teaching portfolio.

Bio

Dr. Ziteng Wang is an associate professor in the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Northern Illinois University. His research interests include operations research, data analytics, and machine learning methods for supply chain, transportation, health, and production systems. He also works with companies in manufacturing, automobile, and transportation sectors to create, deploy, and improve systems for operational excellence. Dr. Wang's research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) AIM-AHEAD program, Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT), Illinois Innovation Network (IIN), University of Illinois System, and industry partners. Dr. Wang directs NIU's AI Lab for Early Autism Diagnosis and Screening (AI-LEADS) to advance AI-powered, accessible autism screening technology. His research has been published in journals such as Naval Research Logistics, Transportation Research (Part B, Part C, Part E), and European Journal of Operational Research. Dr. Wang has served in multiple positions within INFORMS and IISE. He is also the founding faculty advisor of the INFORMS NIU Student Chapter. He currently serves on the INFORMS subdivision council.
